HANDWOVEN WAFFLE TOWEL IN NATURAL UNBLEACHED ORGANIC COTTON

A simple, timeless hand towel made from all-natural, unbleached organic cotton. The deep waffle weave creates a bouncy surface with soft, thick pockets. The off-white colour of the unbleached organic cotton gives the towels a natural and organic feel. Each piece is woven and finished by hand and trimmed with a simple cotton loop for hanging. Full of texture and bounce, these organic hand towels are perfect for daily use in the kitchen or bathroom. 

Handmade by a Fair Trade, producer-owned woman's collective in a small village by the foothills of  Kodaikanal in South India. The organic cotton used to create these waffle towels predominantly comes from within 100km of the village where the fabric is spun and woven. The cotton is hand-loomed by a small group of local artisan women weavers. The weaving facility is part of a registered charitable trust called A Hundred Hands whose aim is to revitalize the idea of handmade products in order to help preserve traditional handicraft skills while helping the artisans who practice them to attain economic independence.

Size: approximately 75cm x 40cm though each piece may vary in size due to the handmade nature of these items.

Material: unbleached organic cotton.

Handmade in Southern India.

Care:  Machine wash on a cold cycle and line dry (though tumble drying on a low heat is also ok). Due to the unique waffle weave, there is no need to iron. Do not bleach and avoid detergents with bleach or whitener. These organic cotton towels have been pre-washed to avoid shrinkage.
