This article was written based on learnings from a month-long trip around the Amazigh heartlands of Morocco. The aim of the trip was to situate vintage Amazigh rugs within their cultural, historical, and social contexts. I wanted to understand their significance, beyond their aesthetic appeal, to be able to bring to life the work of the women who made them and the structures that hold and shape their lives.
