Handwoven Orange Boujad Amazigh Rug with Painterly Lozenge Motifs
A vibrant and painterly Moroccan Boujad rug with rich abrash orange as its primary colour. A dynamic composition of lozenges spreads across the surface, rendered in a mostly muted palette of maroon, sage and deep green, apricot, pink, ivory, and purple, punctuated by occasional bursts of vibrant blue.
Muted maroon borders frame the top and bottom edges, while a colourful checkerboard border runs along the sides, adding further rhythm and visual interest. With its incredibly soft, densely woven construction and expressive design, this unique rug functions as both a work of art and a practical textile for the home.
Woven using local Moroccan handspun wool, this is a new and unused carpet in excellent condition.
With acknowledgement and gratitude for the woman weaver who conceptualised and crafted this unique item. Please take the time to discover more about the Amazigh ('Berber') weaving tradition here.
