Vintage Primitive Handmade Broom

A traditional handmade straw broom, alos know as a hearth broom or whisk broom. Made from natural straw or reed, tightly bundled and bound with wire bindings.  Designed in a vernacular, utilitarian style, these types of brooms were created for indoor sweeping, particularly around hearths, kitchens, and workshops; however, today they also serve as lovely decorative objects.

Size: 50cm.

Origin: Unknown.

Material: Straw, reed or simialr stiff plnat fibre. 

Age/Period: early 20th century. 

Condition:  Good vintage condition, without obvious signs of wear.
