Vintage Moroccan Amazigh Rug in Lustrous Cream Wool
Sourced in Fez, this relatively small and understated Moroccan Amazigh rug features a short ivory pile with densely knotted Berber knots in lustrous handspun wool. Due to its simplicity and modest size, this rug is highly versatile and particularly well suited to a bedroom, not least because of the soft feel of the lanolin-rich wool underfoot. Its calm, neutral palette and simple design give it a timeless character with a subtle twist; the rug is finished with very small tassels on one end and four subtle woven squares, one in each corner, created using pale blue wool that has softened and faded over time. The blue remains visible at the base of each knot, and the wool in these areas has been left slightly longer than the surrounding pile, creating small tactile details that add a touch of playfulness to an otherwise simple and elegant carpet.

Condition: This previously lived-with rug is structurally sound and in excellent vintage condition. There are a few small stains that are barely visible and do not detract from the overall beauty of the textile. The pile remains in very good condition given its age, with a beautiful patina and a lovely, aged, lanolin-rich sheen.
