Antique Japanese Imari Plate Set in Chinoiserie Taste
A set of two vintage Japanese Imari porcelain plates in the chinoiserie style, featuring an idealised landscape with a pagoda motif. In vibrant iron red and indigo, typical of the Edo period, the plates display beautiful aged crackle glazing across the ivory porcelain. Painted and gilded by hand, each plate shows subtle variations and is stamped, and both are in excellent condition given their age.
Size: 20.5 cm (diameter) × 2.5 cm tall.
Origin: Japan.
Age: A high-quality later continuation in the same tradition as the 18th century, Edo period.
Material: Porcelain, stamped.
